  • Toni Toni Schriver Toni Schriver founded PAWWS to Heal, an animal-assisted therapy provider in Madison. Toni works as a supervisor at the UW Vet School’s Large Animal Hospital, where she recently facilitated the Vet School’s donation of fencing material for our rescued birds. We will have a table at PAWWS April 28 fundraiser.
  • Green Chimneys Logo Dr. Sam Ross Green Chimneys in Brewster, NY is a world-renowned leader in animal-assisted therapy. Its founder, Dr. Sam Ross, recently shared his 60+ years experience helping children and animals with Heartland founder Dana Barre in a series of Skype interviews. Dana’s interview with Dr. Ross will be on our website later this year!
  • Volunteer Janie Starzewski Janie Starzewski Janie not only helps out at our barn each week with her husband, Matt, she has been volunteering full time to get our database system up and running properly. We’d be lost without you, Janie. Thank you for all your hard work!

Cherish and Anna Update

Spring Update

Cherish and Anna’s sad story of their early neglect has a very happy ending. Thanks to you, more than $2,000 was raised to pay for Cherish and Anna’s medical care.
